MODERN RANCH

An ultimately 15,000 square foot home underwent an extensive remodel including several small additions, the addition of a pool house and utility shed, as well as an extensive landscape re-design. With 90% of the home on one level, the majority of the walls were removed or at a minimum stripped down to the studs. The residence’s spaces were reconfigured to meet the current owner’s lifestyle and allow the spaces to have a more comfortable livable scale.

Each room is now complete with beautiful textures, clean lines and a variety of wood species, making each space unique. Clean venetian plaster walls display the owner’s art collection. The great room is a true space for living and entertaining. A contemporary linear fireplace with stone surround and integral wood storage and shelving for artistic display illustrate the tone for the overall home’s precision of detail. Above, structural paralams are used in a creative way to drop the ceiling and create a textured architectural feature. Bronze lighting is coordinated in the ceiling reveals for accent spot lighting. The exterior of the residence has a variety of new finish materials that are executed with the same level of specific detail as the interior. Tightly stacked stone veneer, horizontal sapel windows, hand chiseled Chinese granite, marine grade teak with steel reglets, mahogany columns, architectural steel and glass elements all contribute to the transformation of this luxury ranch home into a mountain modern piece of architecture.
